The Legal Editor is expected to create summaries of U.S. case law opinions. The editor must be able to identify an opinion’s important rules of law and edit them for form and content. An editor must also identify an opinion’s key legal and procedural issues, facts, and holdings and condense them into a concise, accurate summary of the opinion. 
The Legal Editor is expected to read, review, and analyze U.S. case law and identify dispositional language, points of law, and precedential value.   Legal editors must be able to identify history connections between case law opinions and relevant dispositional holdings based on editorial guidelines.   1. Law Graduate.
  2. Strong English reading and writing proficiency.
  3. Ability to recognize and understand idiomatic phrases and metaphors commonly used in U.S. case law opinions.
  4. Knowledge of the U.S. Legal System strongly preferred; if not present, ability to learn it quickly required.
  5. Knowledge of US areas of law (legal taxonomy) strongly preferred; if not present, ability to learn it quickly required.
  6. Effective reading comprehension skills and ability to quickly identify legal issues
  7. Demonstrated ability to recognize critical legal arguments and their relevancy to case law holdings.
  8. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook.
  9. Basic experience working in Microsoft Excel, Word, and SharePoint.
  10. Ability to follow complex technical directions.
  11. Ability to work independently, yet ask questions when appropriate
  12. Works successfully in a team environment and actively participates in team meetings
  13. Ability to learn, adapt to, accept, and foster change to work processes.
  14. Open to fresh law graduates.
  15. Flexible with work schedules (morning shift, mid-shift and night shift)
  16. Willing to work in Quezon City
  17. Able to obtain US Visa.
